We are holding the annual relay at Sandringham School on Sunday 18th September. This is a great way for kids not only to have fun while using their triathlon skills, but also get to meet and compete with other members of the club and has in the past created many friendships. All teams will created by the head coach and webmaster to be as equal as possible based on previous results this season.
If you have got friends that want to give triathlon a go then this is a great event to give them a taster.
Prices £3 members and £6 for non-members payable on the day.
Timings are as follows:
1130 Course Set Up
1300 Registration and Transition Opens
1340 Registration Closes
1350 Transition Closes and Race Briefing
Approx 1400 Racing starts.
Format is as follows:
Dependent on numbers, each team will probably comprise of 4 athletes made up of 2 junior and 2 senior / more experienced triathletes.
Apart from the Tristar Starts where the swim is longer, the race will be of a shorter distance than a full triathlon.
The Junior triathletes will swim 4 lengths, bike 1 lap and run 1 lap
The Senior triathletes will swim 8 lengths, bike 2 laps and run 2 laps
In a change to previous years, included in the teams will also be some kids doing a SCOOTATHLON instead of a triathlon which will comprise of a scoot (number of laps to be determined), bike and run 1 or 2 laps dependent on age. Please note the organizers will make the final decision as to which kids will do the scootathlon.
To enter please email me your child’s name, gender, age as at 31/12/2016, whether they would prefer to do a triathlon / scootathlon / either, any medical conditions.
Note all kids under the age of 8 as at 31/12/2016 will only be able to do a scootathlon.
Entries close on Saturday September 10th after training at St Albans Boys School.
Do remember any no shows on the day do cause the organizers a lot of headaches and also let your team mates down.
