This event was held on a cold October afternoon after torrential rain had flooded the area in the morning for the adult races…. Fortunately the sun did choose to shine as the juniors started their races but there were still areas of standing water on the course.
Christy Durbin was the only Tri-Force competitor taking part and after a good first run looked strong going through first transition, however was a little too enthusiastic with her trademark flying mount in the slippery conditions and she crashed off her bike. Not deterred by the blood running down her leg, she managed to untangle herself from the bike and remount but lost too much time. She completed the bike leg and final run before coming in to finish to be met by the medics. Everyone was pleased to see her finish although the sight of her with blood soaked sock and trainer would have put off most from continuing as she had.
Christy said that it was a good location and well run event and after learning from this experience is looking forward to a better result in March 2017!
