As the heatwave continued, the next scheduled Eastern Region race was at Writtle college in Chelmsford. This is the only open water event in the league.
Only three Tri-Force Juniors made the journey to Essex(Antonia, Florence and Eva). Christy Durbin was additionally due to take part but had unfortunately sustained some injuries from a race the day before. Perhaps the World Cup had a bearing too as everyone geared up for England potentially reaching the final.
On to the Tristar 3 where there were 17 girls taking part. Antonia created a considerable lead on the swim leg by over 30 seconds. While some of the lead was lost on transition, Antonia had a storming bike leg, narrowing beating her closest rivals. Antonia put in a reliably fast run to finished first overall with a 90 seconds to spare!.
Florence was our representative to the Tristar 2 race where 18 girls started on the day. Florence was third coming out of the water, gaining a few seconds on the leader in transition. Her bike leg saw her overtake into second and she manage to maintain the gap on the run to finished overall in second place.
In the Tristar 1 race, Eva Dighe who is a new member to the club was up against a field of 18 girls. She came out 13th on the swim. After transition, it was on to the bike course where she had the 16th quickest time. Eva managed to gain some places on the run to finish 14th overall.
A big congratulations to all our Tri-Force Juniors
