Apart from the slight difficulty in accessing the Tiddenfoot Leisure centre, due to the road being used as the start point for the Leighton Buzzard float parade, everything else ran very much to plan. Even the sun shone for the supporters and a cooling breeze assisted the athletes.
This coupled with a well organised course, ample seating to watch the swim,
clear p.a. announcements and great vantage points for supporters to watch all of the competitors (especially the last 200 metres of the final run), it made for a pleasant and rewarding competition for all involved.
The Tri-Force clan made camp within two large orange sails along the final straight and enthusiastically cheered and clapped the 12 strong team members for their wonderful efforts in completing the competition.
There were no competitors in the Tri Star event.
Tri Star 1
Lucas Hartley performed superbly coming 5th out of the 42 boys, it was only the slow transitions that prevented him from climbing further up the final placings.
Daniel Mohammedbhai also keeps improving coming 34th overall.
Two great results for the Tri Star 1 girls with Robyn Hartley coming 12th and Mackenzie Holt 16th out of a large field of 29.
Tri Star 2 Boys
Sam Newman had a great race, posting the second fastest run time, eventually coming 4th out of the 38 competitors.
Zak Mohammedbhai also did superbly well finishing a strong 12th, boosted by a great 1st transition time.
Luke Mueller also continues to improve, coming a creditable 26th out of the 38, just running our of steam in the final run.
Tri Star 2 Girls
A terrific performance from Antonia Jubb to finish in 1st place, crossing the line over a minute ahead of second place, and coming top in all three disciplines.
Caitlin Hartley also had a great race, finishing in 12th place out of the 17 competing.
Tri Star 3 Boys
Newbee to the Tri-Force Team, Matthew Peck had a magnificent race, finishing in 2nd place overall out of the 19 starters, helped by a superb 1st in the swim element.
Tom Jarman narrowly missed out on a top 10 position but should be very pleased with his 11th out of 19 finish.
Tri Star 3 Girls
Jessica Thorn also had a great race, claiming a well deserved podium finish in 3rd place for her consistent performance and placings so far this year.
The huge Tri Force effort was galvanised by our final competitors of the day, Naomi Holt and Hannah Trotman.
Naomi had a great battle with her nemesis Sasha Vail, with both running side by side for much of the last lap, and after a great effort, eventually Naomi finished in 3rd place overall.
Hannah also performed well to finish in 5th place.
A few of the team did stay on for the trophy presentations
and a couple of the mums were really pleased with their daughter’s achievements!!!!!!!
Well done to all.
