The Rob McLean triathlon is organised by Cambridge Triathlon Club and is one of the largest races in the region. It was held at Impington Village College , only an hour from St Albans.
The swim is within the college’s swimming pool and is followed by a bike and run courses on a fast, flat grassed sports fields.
Tri-force Juniors had a good turnout but due to the scheduling of Youth in the morning, we were unable to get a team photo.
Conditions on the day were hot and cold water buckets were on hand at the finish for everyone.
The Youth competitors started early in the day. Our girls were up against 18 other. Eva McCabe narrowly missed out on a podium to finish 4th while Jess Thorn came 10th
In Tristar 1, Callum Powell finished 4th overall from a field of 39 boys.
In Tristar 2, we had 6 Tri-Force Juniors up against 59 boys and 36 girls. Ethan Storti finished 8th, Jonathan Bint came 31st and Lucas Hartley finished 44th. In the girls race, Florence Crowley had a fantastic race to finish 1st. Mackenzie Holt came 21st and Robyn Hartley finished 33rd.
In Tristar 3, we had 3 Tri-Force Juniors racing against 38 boys and 33 girls. In the boys race, Jamie Powell came 28th. In the girls race, Antonia Jubb finished 2nd and Hannah Barker came 5th.
