The end of the Junior triathlon season was soon approaching, and one of the closing events was the WiTri Kids and Adult event in Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire, held on the 13th August 2016.
This proved a very popular event with a high number of Tri force competitors, who , helped by mild and sunny weather, appeared to enjoy the conditions and did a great job in rising to the occasion as a result.
Tri-Force were very well represented by: Caitlin Hartley, Mackenzie Holt, Antonia Jubb, Naomi Holt, Hannah Newman, Emily Rayden, Hannah Rayden, Jessica Thorn, and Robyn Hartley for the ladies and with William Hughes , Tom Rayden, Lucas Hartley, Sam Newman, Adam Hughes and Oliver Davis representing the gents , there was some definite hope of Tri Force success.
With no TriForce Tristarts in the field, the next event was the Tristar 1 event girls.
Robyn and Mackenzie performed really well with strong performances, earning a 21st place for Robyn and a 15th position for Mackenzie out of the 26 girls competing.
Well done girls.
A similar turnout of 28 boys for the Tristar 1 event, with Lucas Hartley finishing strongly to earn himself a great 12th place finish.
The Tristar 2 Girls race had old adversaries Antonia Jubb and Beatrice Pauley competing again and it proved another very close competition, with Beatrice pipping Antonia to the top spot by just 7 seconds.
Caitlin Hartley also offered a sterling performance by achieving 15th position.
Tristar 2 boys had three Tri Force competitors who all produced fine performances.
Tom Rayden coming in 22nd, whilst Sam Newman achieved 12th spot and William Hughes had a great day achieving a 7th place finish out of the 25 competitors.
Nice work lads!
Of the 13 girls taking part in the Tristar 3 event, TriForce had Hannah Newman, Emily Rayden & Jessica Thorn competing.
All three performed excellently with Hannah having given absolutely everything at the end to achieve 12th place,
Emily finished in 7th position, and Jessica had her fifth 4th place of the season, (not really being aware of how this result and the subsequent final two events would impact on the very close overall season’s league results)
Keep it up ladies!.
To continue the success of the younger athletes, the youths rallied to produce some great results to end the day.
In the ladies section, Naomi Holt superbly finished in 3rd place thanks in part to topping the bike times,
with Hannah Rayden just behind her in 4th. Well done to you both.
And the day ended with a triumphant first place podium finish for Adam Hughes, closely followed in third by Oliver Davis. Great results to end the day.
Well done gents!
As if some members of the team had not done enough exercise they decided on an unusual warm down routine!!!!!
Well done Tri-Force, for continuing to provide great results and improvements individually, but also to consistently be raising the bar and standards of the competition results of the Tri-Force Junior team.
We remain proud of you all!
